Today PM Narendra Modi addressed the citizens of India at 10 A.M. Although the extension was forecasted by the media gurus and other intellectuals way before PM Modi gave it a nod. Odisha was the first State to extend the lockdown on 11th of April followed by Punjab and other states.

Today PM Narendra Modi affirmatively stated that till now we have been able to tackle the situation very well. Where the other countries had more than 20,000 cases in the third phase we have only around 9,551 active cases out of which 351 have died so far. Our PM stated that the lockdown will be extended up to 3rd May 2020. This phase of the lockdown will be more stricter.

All the areas will be monitored closely for up to 15 days and then will be categorised under the area that will be safe and that which will be under risk. PM Modi assured that the lockdown is one of the best social cure that is there against this fight with Corona Virus. We will surely come out of this stronger than before!

While there was nothing official after the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted: “PM has taken correct decision to extend lockdown. Today, India’s position is better than many developed countries because we started lockdown early. If it is stopped now, all gains would be lost. To consolidate, it is important to extend it.”
